Well, that past week was something else! Even me, who loves the summer and the heat, found those last two days almost unbearable. We opted to stay indoors. My husband and I are avid walkers and like to do our one or two constitutionals around the neighbourhood each day. There was no walking on the final day of heat, that's for sure. After the storm, and that was quite the storm, things cooled down, but still there was that hint of humidity in the air. As most of you know, I am gearing up for Collingwood and my annual trip to ElvisFest. I am praying to the weather god to send us nice, balmy temperatures as he did last year. So this past weekend, we went to see Superman at the lovely air conditioned theatre in Bayfield Mall after already seeing Pirates of the Caribbean (be still my heart). That's a great way to stay cool and enjoy a movie at the same time.

Smile: A man goes into a restaurant and sits at the back table. Next to him is a man with a monkey and suddenly the monkey begins to talk. "Hey, there, how're you doing man?" The man at the next table is astounded. "Wow! A talking monkey, that's great. How much would you take for him." "He's not for sale," says the man. Another man comes into the restaurant in time to hear the conversation and sits down at the table where the monkey has now gone quiet. The monkey's owner takes a frog out of his pocket and it begins to talk and sing, while the other men sit there dumbfounded. "Wow!" says the second man, "that's even better. What would you take for that frog?" After thinking it over, the owner of the two talented pets says, "I'll take $1000." With that, the man gives him the money and happily leaves the restaurant with the frog. "Why did you do that?" asked the first man. "You wouldn't sell me the monkey". "Of course not," says the man. "The monkey's the ventriloquist".
