Mary Sloan celebrates 108th
by Linda Gerow
St. Peter's Anglican Church congregation wishes Mary Sloan, its oldest member, a very happy 108th birthday on June 12th. A longtime resident of Churchill, Mary moved to Barrie in the late 1980's and now resides at Victoria Village. Mary was organist at St. Peter's for over sixty years and is remembered for her dedication to the C.G.I.T. and the Girl's Auxiliary, not to mention her early days when she was postmistress in Lefroy for five years and in Shanty Bay for three years. She retired as an employee of the Innisfil Township after 29 years and then devoted her time from 1966 until 1978 as a librarian. In 1978, Mary retired after 62 years in the library business. Mary's health of late has prevented her from attending services at St. Peter's but she is fondly remembered by all there. Happy Birthday, Mary.
