NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

FOR PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF INNISFIL

(Planning Act R.S.O 1990, c. P.13, s. 17(15), O.Reg. 198/96

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Innisfil will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday June 27, 2006, at 7:00 PM at the Stroud-Innisfil Recreation Community Centre, 7883 Yonge Street, Stroud. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to obtain public comments on a proposed Town Official Plan under Section 17 of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990 c. P.13.

The land affected by the proposed Official Plan is described as all lands within the boundaries of the Corporation of the Town of Innisfil. No Key Map is provided since the whole of the Town is included within the Official Plan.

THE PURPOSE is to consider a new updated Official Plan for the Town of Innisfil which reflects recent Provincial Policy directions and legislative changes, improves policy protection of significant natural features and agricultural resources and provides strategic policy to respond to applications for change over the next 25 years.

THE EFFECT of the proposed Official Plan policy is to bring the Town's Official Plan into conformity with Provincial directions and to identify and protect significant features and resources, direct future growth, and provide a clear foundation for other planning tools such as zoning, within the Town of Innisfil.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and make oral and/or written submissions either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan.

IF YOU WISH to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan, you must make a written request to the Clerk of the Town of Innisfil at 2147 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil, Ontario L9S 1A1.

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY files a notice of appeal of a decision of the County of Simcoe (as approval authority) in respect of the proposed Official Plan does not make oral submissions to the Council of the Town of Innisfil at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Innisfil before the Official Plan is adopted, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION regarding the proposed Official Plan will be available on the Town's web site and for inspection between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., on weekdays at the Town's Customer Service Department.
