Rice, Maxwell Claude
(1923-2006) It is with great sadness and love that the Rice family announces the passing of Maxwell Rice in his home on June 8th, 2006. Born in Toronto, Ontario on May 16th, 1923 to Deborah and Will Rice. Maxwell and his wife Lois are members of St. Paul's United Church in Brampton. Maxwell was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Lois of 63 years, his sons; Rod and his wife Sandra, Dave and his wife Maritza and Jeff. Maxwell was a wonderful grandfather to Heather, Laura, Eric, Carley, Lindsay, Camila and Sammy. Maxwell served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the second world war. He has always taken an active role in charitable causes. He had a great love for Brampton; it's the place he would always call home. His generosity surpasses the Brampton boundary. He will be remembered for his love of life and his pride and joy in his family. Maxwell saw the potential of the city of Brampton and Maxwell continued to play an active role in Rice Development until the day he died. All who met Maxwell were bettered by knowing him. He was the kind of man that was a true role model for others. The strong views and ethics that he held left an impression on all of those he met. He lived his life by the example he set. Family and friends were received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel," 52 Main Street South, (Hwy 10), on Saturday June 10th and Sunday June 11th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service was held at St. Paul's United Church, 30 Main Street South, (Hwy 10), Brampton on Monday June 12th, 2006 at 11 am. Interment Brampton Cemetery. Donations made to Brampton Area Community Foundation or the Brampton Civic Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
