Drug enforcement blitz at Innisfil high school

On Thursday, June 8th, during the morning hours members of the South Simcoe Police and the Huronia Combined Drug Enforcement Unit set up an aggressive drug enforcement blitz to deal with individuals possessing and dealing illegal drugs at an Innisfil High School. This was after police received numerous tips from the public and others of flagrant drug use and trafficking occurring near and on school property .

This included students and non students alike trespassing on the property.

Several officers flooded the area and set up observations that resulted in 7 individuals being arrested under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Searches revealed that these persons were in possession of Cannabis, Cannabis Resin and Cocaine. These drugs were seized and charges have been laid on two adult males from the Innisfil area.

Both were later released from custody on a Promise to Appear with conditions and will appear in a Bradford Courtroom on July 27th.

The South Simcoe Police and our school community service officers are taking a firm stance on this drug problem with zero tolerance for offenders. Police and School officials will continue their enforcement vigilantly and the perpretrators will face criminal charges from police and suspensions or dismissal from the school for these offences.
