A reunion at the Dawsons
by Susan Stein

Jack Hunter called Alan from New Brunswick, and said he will be visiting his hometown Cookstown and then to Bala for a Hunter Reunion in Bala.

Stay with us, Alan told Jack, and we will hold a reunion with your school chums at our house. So on Sunday, July 30th, Jack arrived, Jack the son of Terrence and Ann Hunter, who owned the Texaco Service Station, where now the UPI is. Jack trained as an RCMP officer, served in the Yukon and became top ranking officer in New Brunswick. He retired after 35 years, but still lends his expertise when required.

Alan and his wife Marjorie, invited Jim Arnold, Bob Riley, Bill Lemon, John Dermott, John Houghton, and Stan Snyder for a B.B.Q to reminisce and tell their stories, and of their plans.

Alan took Jack for a visit with his mother's 95 year old school friend, who lives in Barrie. They also visited with Joan McLean and Keith Couse, Jean Hughes and Bill Marling.

Jack left for New Brunswick on August 1st. Many thankyous from all, who enjoyed the Dawsons hospitality, and his efforts to stay in touch.
