Discover Simcoe County through New Tourism
Website www.discoversimcoe.com

Midhurst/ August 2, 2006 - The Huronia Tourism Association, the County of Simcoe's tourism division, has launched a new website that highlights the many attractions this region has to offer.

The website, www.discoversimcoe. com, showcases tourism facilities the County has to offer as well as information and links to accommodations, attractions, outdoor activities, a calendar of events and partners in tourism. There is also a free interactive mapping feature that will help both the residents and visitors find their way around the area.

"The County of Simcoe offers so much to residents and visitors alike", stated Warden Terry Geddes.

"The summer just seems to bring out the best in people and brings them outdoors with good reason.

There are so many undiscovered treasures here that no matter what your activity level, there is something to please!"

In addition to the newly re-vamped website, the office for Huronia Tourism is now located in the expanded Simcoe County Museum. Tourism information is available not only for

Simcoe County but other areas of the province as well. This service is provided on a seven-day a week basis. In addition to the new location there is also free public Internet access available to visitors, ideal for those touring Simcoe County but also need to stay connected.

"We are in the enviable position of being a four-season tourism destination," stated Rose Cambourne, Huronia Tourism Administrator. "We hope our new facilities and this new website will assist people when they are contemplating their travel plans and will be able to access information all in one place making it quick and easy to plan a visit to this incredible region".

Visitors are invited to visit www.discover simcoe. com or drop by the Huronia Tourism office located at 1151 Highway 26 (near intersection of County Road 27 and Highway 26) to plan their outings.

The County of Simcoe is composed of sixteen member municipalities and provides crucial public services to County residents in addition to providing paramedic and social services to the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia. Visit our website at www.county.simcoe .on.ca.
