South Simcoe Police

Cause Disturbance

South Simcoe Police received a call on Wednesday morning advising that an unknown male was yelling to call Police. The male stated that he was lost and needed help. Police attended to an address in Alcona and observed the male staggering on the roadway. Police observed the male to be practicing Karate moves. When questioned by police he advised that he was from Brampton and he was in Innisfil to help his brother move. Police ran the male and it was revealed that he was breaching one of his probation orders not to consume alcohol. The 51 year old male was arrested, taken into custody and held for a bail hearing the next day.

Theft Over

South Simcoe Polie are investigating a theft of an ATV from a rural Bradford residence sometime between Aug 7 and 8, 2006. A 2002 Polaris Sportsman, green in colour lic # 48CH3 was taken.

Theft Over

Police are also investigating the theft from a farm on Cnty Rd 27 in Innisfil. Taken sometime between Aug 4 and Aug 8 was a 2001 Ford F550 dump truck along with a dual axle trailer which was carrying a 2005 John Deere "skid steer" tractor.

Impaired driver

On Friday the 11th of August a South Simcoe police officer was operating the police motorcycle and observed a motorcycle in the Stroud area disobey a stop sign and travel at a high rate of speed. The officer caught up to the bike and pulled him over. The driver exhibited the tell tale signs of having consumed alcohol and a roadside breath test was demanded. The driver blew a fail and he was arrested and taken to Barrie police to provide samples into the intoxilyzer. The results were well over the legal limit resulting in the 52 year old Innisfil male being charged with having over 80 mgs and an automatic 90 day drivers licence suspension being issued.

Drinking driver

On Friday the 11th of August shortly after 9:30 pm a South Simcoe police officer stopped a speeder on Shoreacres Drive in Innisfil. While investigating the vehicle the officer observed an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle and detected the smell of alcohol on the drivers breath. A roadside breath test was administered and a warn was registered. The driver a 23 year old Innisfil male had his drivers licence suspended for 12 hours.

Impaired,resist arrest, flight from police,breach of probation and refuse breath test.

On Saturday the 12th of August shortly after 10pm a South Simcoe police officer observed a vehicle in the Stroud area being operated without licence plates. The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over by activating emergency equipment but the driver continued on and was observed swerving on the roadway hitting the shoulder on several occasions. The vehicle was finally stopped and the officer observed the usual signs of impairment on the driver and the officer arrested the accused.The driver responded by kicking at the officer. The driver was subdued and while being investigated it was discovered that he was on probation with a condition to stay away from alcohol. The man was transported to the Bradford police office where he provided only one breath sample over twice the legal limit however refused to provide the required second sample. The 35 year old Innisfil man was held for bail in Barrie.

Impaired driver

On Saturday the 12th of August just before midnight a South Simcoe police officer observed a vehicle driving in an

erratic manner on County Rd 4 and the Innisfil Beach Rd area and pulled the vehicle over. The driver exhibited the usual signs of having consumed alcohol and was arrested for the purpose of supplying breath samples.The man was transported to the Bradford police office where he blew over twice the legal limit. The driver a 29 year old Churchill man was charged with Impaired/Over 80mgs and his licence automatically suspended for 90 days.

Assault

On Sunday the 13th of August at approx: 7:30pm South Simcoe police were called to investigate the report of a large fight at Innisfil Beach park.Upon arrival it was discovered that several men had argued over fishing at the dock and carried their argument on to the entrance to the park. It appears that several locals who were nearby joined in the melee in an attempt to even out the numbers. At the end of it all one male party was left with a bleeding nose. All parties were cautioned and sent on their way.

Threatening

On Sunday the 13th of August shortly before 9pm South Simcoe police were called to an Innisfil address to investigate the report of a threat made to a female by her common law husband. The female had received a phone message on her cell phone from the husband threatening bodily harm to her. The man a 45 year old Innisfil native was arrested and charged with threats. He will appear in Bradford court in September.

Drinking driver

On Sunday the 13th of August a South Simcoe police officer was called to investigate a vehicle in the ditch on the 10th sideroad near the 9th line of Innisfil. The officer found that the driver had been drinking and a roadside breath test was administered. The driver a 55 year old Barrie man registered a warn on the device and as such his licence was suspended for 12 hours.
