Innisfil Tykes are Provincial Champions

The tyke team proved to be champions, especially with their 5-0 record in Whitby.
Innisfil tykes came out on top of the "D" Provincial Championships in Whitby August 6th to 8th with an impressive 5-0 record in the first game the defeated Mimmico 7-3 with goals from Cooper Moores(3), Matthew McDonald, Joey Tskiaris, Josh Purcell and Jesse Martin, with assists from Devon Ludlow and Jordan Feeney.

Game two they beat Peterborough 13-4 with goals coming from Cooper M o o r e s ( 5 ) D e v o n L u d l o w ( 4 ) , M a t t h e w McDonald(2),Nicholas Walton,and Jeffery Tsiaris.and assists from Devon Ludlow, Matthew McDonald, Cooper Moores and Jeffery Tsiaris.

In the 3rd game they beat a strong Hamilton team 4-2 with goals from Cooper Moores(2), Matthew McDonald and Ryan Davies.with assists from Devon Ludlow, Ryan Davies and William Macintyre.

Game four was their toughest challenge all year against a very big and tough six nations team, but

the boys picked up there game when they needed to,and came out on top 6-3 with goals from Devon Ludlow(3),Cooper Moores (2)and Nicholas Walton. With assists going to Jesse Martin and Devon Ludlow.

Finally in the championship game the team took on a much improved Huntsville team and was up to the challenge wining the game and the championship 5-2 with all five goals coming from Devon Ludlow, and assists from Jordan Feeney, Matthew McDonald and Jesse Martin, to bring home the first ever provincial championship for the Innisfil minor lacrosse association. Special mention must go out to goaltender Jordan Feeney who after being sick before Tuesdays two final games, came up huge for the team and kept the boys in many close games with big saves when the team needed him. Coach Mark McDonald feels he was the best goaltender in the tournament. Way to go team!
