Gilford man charged with uttering threats On August 28, at 5:25 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a 911 call for assistance from a female resident of Innisfil advising that two male suspects had just attended her residence for the purpose of collecting a debt. The victim was threatened with death and bodily harm. Within a short period of time officers had one male, a 32 year old Gilford man under arrest and the identity of the other suspect for which an arrest warrant will be issued. The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing at the Barrie court house. Mischief under $5000 and fail to appear On August 28th, the Toronto Police Service arrested a 25 year old Innisfil male on a outstanding arrest warrant from 2001 for a mischief charge relating to a domestic occurrence. The accused was transported to the South Simcoe Police Service and held in custody pending a show cause hearing at the Barrie court house. Robbery, breach of conditions x4, assault and proceeds of crime On August 28th, at 6:15 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a 911 call from a concerned citizen that a robbery may have taken place. Officers located the victim, a 14 year old Bradford male that had been minding his own business when a 13 year old Bradford male unknown to the victim stole his skateboard while brandishing a piece of pipe. With the assistance of a citizen officers attention was drawn to the park where the suspect was located assaulting another youth. The accused and two female friends were placed under arrest and transported to the police station where further investigation found the female parties had no involvement in the occurrence. The accused who is already before the courts on several other charges will also be charged with breaching four conditions. The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing at the Barrie court house. Domestic dispute call On August 29th, at 12:25 a.m., South Simcoe Police received a call from an upset father that his 15 year old son was out of control due to being intoxicated. Officers arrived on scene and learned it wasn't a domestic dispute, it was a mother,father and older son trying to control their intoxicated family member. The 15 year old youth was arrested for breach of the peace and held in custody for the night before being returned to his parents. Breach of probation On August 29th at 12:21 a.m., South Simcoe Police received a 911 call for assistance in Alcona for a father having a difficult time with his intoxicated son. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the 21 year old son for breaching his conditions by drinking alcohol. The accused had been released on a suspended sentence for assault with the condition not to drink alcohol. The accused is also being investigated for thefts from cars in the Alcona area prior to the incident with his father. The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing in Barrie City. Break Enter & Theft South Simcoe Police were contacted by a Bradford resident around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday after the owner attended home to find her back door had been kicked in. She observed a male running into the bushes in her back yard. She also observed a small white vehicle parked down the street when she pulled into her driveway. Police attended and observed that the rear door had been kicked in and the dead bolt was approx. 20 feet across the room. It appears the owner came home and startled the suspect(s). The only thing missing was $100 in Canadian money and $50 in U.S. change. The suspect(s) went through closets and drawers of the residence. Before police arrived the owner waited outside and observed that the white vehicle had left the area. The only description of the male running from the house was that he was wearing a blue shirt. Breach of Recognizance On Aug. 18, a 43 year old female from Bradford failed to sign in at the South Simcoe Police station in Bradford as was a condition of her bail from previous charges. On August 23, she attended the police station 5 days late and wanted to sign in for the missed date. She was subsequently arrested and held for a bail hearing on August 24. Breach of Conditional Sentence Order On Aug. 23, police attended a Fred Cook Drive address in Bradford to seek out a 32 year old female who was wanted on a warrant for breaching her conditional sentence order. She was located at that address and arrested. She was held in custody and will appear before her sentencing judge to be re-sentenced on the original charges that brought about her conditional sentence. Break and Enter Police are investigating a break in that occurred at a Salem Road address in Innisfil sometime between Aug. 19 and 22. The homeowners indicated that during this time period that they were away, unknown persons gained entry to the residence through a livingroom window and stole jewelry, a video game system, several video games, and a quantity of coins from the residence. Investigation is continuing. Theft of Vehicle The South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of a 1988 Dodge D50 Pick Up black in colour from an Innisfil garage sometime overnight on Aug. 21. The vehicle was parked in the lot of the garage and was discovered missing the following morning by the garage owner. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 22, the vehicle was recovered on Ridge Road in Oro Medonte by the O.P.P. It had apparently been used to commit a Break and Enter in the area. Investigation is continuing. Fail to Remain On Aug. 22, the South Simcoe Police were called to a suspicious vehicle on County Road #89 in Innisfil. Witnesses reported the male pulled his vehicle in behind a barn and fled on foot. Officers attended and located a male a short distance away. He initially advised he was walking to Toronto (in the wrong direction) but later admitted he had been involved in a collision and had fled the scene. Investigation revealed that the O.P.P. were investigating a Fail to Remain accident on Hwy #400 and the male was involved in this collision.
