Innisfil libraries celebrate 5th anniversary

Celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Lakeshore Branch of the Innisfil Public Library during September and October!

A variety of events and contests have been planned to involve residents of all ages.

The five weeks of celebration will be kicked off with an Innisfil Public Library first! "Fine Fee Week" at all branches from September 19th to the 23rd is free fines with a twist. A jar of coupons at the circulation desk will allow customers owing fines to win a discount or a 1 in 10 chance being 100% fine free. Coupons must be used on a single card for current overdue fines and at the time of the transaction outstanding fines must be completely paid. (Coupons may not be used on fees for lost and damaged items.)

Another first for Innisfil will be an "adopt a book" campaign - "Go to the Head of the Line". Customers may choose

to donate $30 towards the cost of a new best selling book. In addition to having a bookplate recognizing the donation mounted in the book, the donor will "go to the head" of the hold list for that title. Forms will be available at all branched of the Library or on the Library website www.innisfil.library.on.ca.

Other anniversary activities include - movies Superman Returns, Garfield's Tail of Two Kitties and the Devil Wears Prada (every 5th ticket sold will be free); historic Innisfil displays; local authors readings; promotion of the upcoming book "Farms of Innisfil"; and an Anniversary Time Capsule in conjunction with the local schools.
