South Simcoe Police Fail To Appear/Breach of Recognizance On Thursday, August 31 at 11:10 p.m., the South Simcoe Police received a call from the Barrie Police Service to advise that they had a male stopped in Barrie who was wanted by South Simcoe on a warrant for Failing to Appear for Court. As a result, the male was arrested by Barrie and returned to Innisfil by South Simcoe officers. The male had failed to appear for a required court date on May 11, in Bradford. Further investigation revealed the accused had breached his bail by failing to attend court as required. A 26 year old Richmond Hill male was held for a bail hearing in Barrie on Sept. 1. Impaired Driving On Sept. 1, at approximately 7 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a citizen report of a possible impaired driver in the Innisfil area. The vehicle was stopped by police a short time later. The male driver was found to be impaired and was arrested. He was taken to the police station for breath samples. The drives alcohol level was found to be 3 times the legal limit. A 59 year old Innisfil man is charged with Impaired Driving and Excess Alcohol. He will appear in Bradford Provincial Court at a later date to answer to the charges. A second male party in the vehicle was found to be heavily intoxicated and had to be placed under arrest after he exited the vehicle and refused to heed police warning to stay off of the roadway. He was held in custody until sober and released. Impaired Driving On Sept, 3, at approximately 2:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police stopped a vehicle on Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil due to erratic driving. The officer spoke to the male driver and observed signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and subsequently taken to the police station for breath samples which were also found to be over the limit. A 19 year old Innisfil man is charged with Impaired driving and Excess alcohol. He was released on a Promise to appear and will appear in court at a later date. Theft of Auto South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of a pick up truck from an Innisfil residence. The vehicle was stolen over night between Sept. 1st and 2nd. Police are looking for a 1996 GMC truck, grey in colour. Anyone with information is asked to call police. Domestic Assault On August 30 at approximately 3:50 p.m. the South Simcoe Police were called to a Kate Avenue address in Innisfil for a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a male who advised that he had been repeatedly slapped and punched by his wife after she returned home from work and learned that he had stayed home from work all day and had smoked their stash of marihuana, leaving none for her. As a result, a 30 year female was charged with Assault. She was release on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking and will have to reside at another address until the charges are dealt with in court. Mischief To Property On Sept. 2, at approximately 3:30 a.m., York Regional Police were investigating a report of a Break And Enter in the Holland Landing area. Officers investigated two suspicious male youths located in the area. The youths were found in possession of several spray paint cans along with numerous items which caused suspicion. Further investigation revealed that the youths had attended the Bradford Go Train lot and spray painted several Go Train Cars causing damage in the thousands. The youths were turned over to South Simcoe Police for further investigation. Two youths from Holland Landing are charged with Mischief To Property. They will appear in youth court at a later date to answer to the charges. The exact dollar value for repair to the train has not yet been determined. |
