Fall Flower and Vegetable Show Winners!

SMELLING THE ROSES - The annual Fall Show for the Horticultural Society took place this weekend at the Library in Alcona. Some of the winners from this year's event were still on-hand after the judging, and stopped for our cameras. (Above left) Best In Show winner Oda Barlow displays her 9x13" tray of vegetables, grown in her own garden. (Above right) Earle and Helen Gilmore took home first place for their gladiola's, with the right combination of third, a third, a third (1/3 open, 1/starting to open, 1/3 closed) (Below) Lindsay Metherall-11, took home three prizes, including a first place for her marigold's, a third for her dahlia and another first for her rose.
