Warrants Executed Incident

On Wednesday the 6th September 2006, members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau set up surveillance of an Alcona residence in effort to arrest a 38 year old male of no fixed abode, on outstanding warrants. This subject had been evading police and was aware he was wanted in relation to several offences against his now ex female common law partner. This included recent incidents of mischief, assault with intent to resist arrest, criminal harassment (stalking) and breaching his probation orders all of which occurred during the month of August 2006 in the Town of Innisfil.

The subject was located by plain clothes officers in the backyard of her residence and was arrested without incident on this occasion. He was transported to the North Division for processing and shortly thereafter taken before a Justice of the Peace in Barrie for his Bail Hearing.

Domestic assault.

On Tuesday September 5th, at approximately 3:25 PM the South Simcoe Police Service received a 911 call. The caller hung up prior to

police receiving any information, officers arrived on scene a short time later to find that a 36 year of Bradford man had assaulted his wife by pushing her to the ground and choking her. Officer arrested the husband and transported him to the police station were he was held pending a show cause hearing so he could answer to the charges of Domestic assault and choking.

Drive motor vehicle while disqualified

On Tuesday September 5th, at approximately 8:30 PM a South Simcoe Police officer on general patrol observed a 26 year old Bradford man operating a motor vehicle. The officer had charged the driver on July 4th of this year with drive disqualified as a result of a fail to remain conviction the accused had received prior. The accused was released on a form 9 appearance notice at that point. On the 30th of July this year a York Regional Police Officer stopped the accused, arrested, charged and released the accused on a promise to appear for drive disqualified. As a result of the accused actions he was held in custody for a show cause hearing at the Barrie court house September 6th 2006.

Breach of probation.

On Tuesday September 5th, at approximately 9:30 PM the South Simcoe Police Service responded to a call for assistance to a Cookstown address for a family dispute involving their twin sons. Officers investigated two 20 year old male's that were giving the parents a difficult time, investigation learned that the 1st suspect had a warrant for his arrest with Bracebridge O.P.P. The accused was returned to the station where he was later picked and Transported to Bracebridge for court. The 2nd son was arrested out front of his house for being intoxicated in a public place and was held in custody for the night, receiving a Provincial Offences ticket in the morning.

Drive while under suspension

On Wednesday September 6th at 6:00 PM the York Regional Police Service arrested a 43 year old Woodbridge man on a South Simcoe Police arrest warrant for driving while under suspension. The accused was transported to the Bradford station and held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Breach of Probation

On September 8th South Simcoe Police were advised

that a male had been breaching his probation. The accused was on probation from a Aggravated Assault conviction where the accused had stabbed his wife and then stabbed himself. On this date the accused had been calling his wife by phone in violation of a court order prohibiting from having any communication whatsoever with his wife. The accused had continualy called the victim and threatened her new boyfriend. South Simcoe Police located the accused in Holland Landing and arrested him for Breach of Probation. The accused a 46 year old Holland Landing man is charged with Breach of Probation and was held for a bail hearing 9SEP2006.

Flight from Peace Officer/ Dangerous Driving/Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00

On Thursday September 7, police were informed of a suspicious vehicle carrying two occupants, one of which may have a warrant for arrest.

Police located the Green Plymouth Voyageur van. on Warrington Way in the Town of Innisfil. Police drove past the vehicle which was stopped. Police observed one male occupant in the driver's seat. Police turned around and attempted to catch up to the vehicle which had proceeded southbound while police were in the process of turning around. Police observed the vehicle to fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Warrington Way and Leslie Drive. The vehicle turned westbound onto Leslie Drive, then made a sharp left turn onto Mildred Avenue. Police observed the vehicle accelerate to an abnormally high rate of speed for the area where a local public school is located with young children present. Police then observed the vehicle to make a right turn on Lebanon Drive while completely disregard the stop sign. Police activated all emergency equipment while attempting to have the vehicle pull over. The

driver of the motor vehicle refused to stop for police and engaged in police an active pursuit. During the pursuit the accused accelerated to a high rate of speed and failed to stop for numerous stop signs. Police subsequently followed the vehicle until the driver stopped at the end of a dead end located on Leslie Drive.

Police observed one male occupant exit the driver's door and began to run on foot into a wooded area north of the subdivision. Police located the accused short time later attempting to make his escape in a taxi. The male was arrested. Investigation revealled the van he was driving had just been reported stolen to Barrie Police.

A 27 year old male of no fixed address is facing charges.
