THORNTON NEWS Grand Opening Celebrations were held at two of the new businesses at the Thornton Crossings Plaza on Saturday, September 16. Bubbles Cutting Edge Hair and Tanning Salon held a ribbon cutting ceremony with Essa Mayor Dave Guergis on hand to do the honours. Proprietor, Beverly McLeod gave me tour of her new salon. They have two tanning beds to choose from either a stand up or lay down bed type. The designer of the beds has made special bulbs that don't emit the harmful UVB rays like the sun. If you want to keep your healthy glow from the summer or are going on vacation down south and want to avoid spending days with a painful burn, this is the place to start. They also have four stations for hair cutting including a special child's chair shaped like a race car and use the hair care products from Schwarzkopf Professional. They demonstrated how good the products are by using the tiniest dab of product on my daughter's hair and it instantly straightened, and became smooth and soft. Beverly and her staff invite all Thornton and area residents to stop in and try their services. Anyone who does in the next 30 days will be entered into their grand opening draw. You can call for an appointment at 458-2761. Also celebrating their Grand Opening next door to Bubbles Cutting Edge was inSPArations Spa and Wellness. Just to walk in their door is a calming and soothing experience. The friendly staff led by Carol Brillinger offer many services from facials, manicures, waxing, and massages. Just give them a call at 458-1555 or drop in to pickup a flyer to see their full list of treatments and monthly specials. I've already tried their Signature Facial and an Indian Head Massage, you could become addicted. For chocolate lovers there is the Chocolate Blitz Body Mask, doesn't it sound delightful? At their Grand Opening they treated everyone to tours of the spa, gave them mini manicures, a welcome gift and an entry into their Grand Opening Draw. Everyone was also well fed with hotdogs, drinks, and cake. Welcome to the neighborhood inSPArations and Bubbles Cutting Edge, much success to both of you.
