South Simcoe Police

Sexual assault.

On Sunday September 10th, in the early afternoon hours, the victim was in the common cleaning room on the third floor of a Bradford residence in the process of emptying a bucket of water. The accused entered the room through an open door with a mop in hand to return it. While there he began telling the victim that she was a pretty girl then placed his left hand upon her left buttock and squeezed it several times. It was the victim's opinion that the accused was drunk at the time as she noted he had difficulty in keeping his balance abd as well his speech was slurred and he had the odour of alcoholic beverages and coffee on his breath.

On Wednesday September 13th 2006, the victim attended the South Simcoe Police Service seeking assistance with this matter . She advised that she had not done so earlier as she was frightened. Investigating officers arrested the accused a 46 year old Bradford man shortly after taking the report, The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Domestic mischief and breach of conditions.

On Thursday September 14th, at approximately 3:05 AM the South Simcoe Police Service received a call to a Bradford residence for an intoxicated female armed with scissors. Prior to officers arrival the accused put the scissors down and was cooperative with police . Investigation found the accused had damaged a piece of her husbands property and breached previous court conditions by consuming alcoholic drinks. The accused, a 40 year old Bradford, woman was charged accordingly and held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Impaired Driver

On Friday September 15, at approximately 11:00 p.m. the South Simcoe Police Service were called to a single motor vehicle accident on Lockhart Rd. in the Town of Innisfil. Upon arrival, officers observed that a 1991 Dodge Van had driven into the ditch on the north side of the road. Paramedics were attending to the driver who turned out not to be injured. Officers spoke to the male and determined that he was impaired by the consumption of alcoholic beverages. He was arrested and taken back to the station where he provided two breath samples that were twice the legal limit. He subsequently charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 mgs. His vehicle was towed and he received a 90 day licence suspension.

12 Hour Licence Suspension

On September 16, at approximately 9:30 p.m. police stopped a vehicle on County Road 4 near the 12th Line of Bradford. While speaking to the driver, a 44 year old Gilford resident, the officer detected an odour of alcohol on his breath. A roadside test was administered resulting in a warning. The driver's vehicle was towed and he was issued a 12 hour licence suspension.

Smash and Grab

On September 16, at approximately 3:00 a.m. police responded to an alarm at a clothing store on Lockhart Road in the Town of Innisfil. The officers arrived within minutes and discovered a large hole in the window of the front door. A search of the premises revealed that the store had been entered and the cash register had been removed. Nothing else was taken. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to the officers arrival. Police are investigating.

Mischief to Autos

The South Simcoe Police are investigating a total of seven occurrences involving vandalism to vehicles in Bradford West Gwillimbury that occurred sometime overnight on September 15-16, 2006. The damage to the vehicles consisted of smashed windshields and windows, flattened tires, punctured mufflers, and dented hoods, roofs, and trunk lids from being stomped on. Most of the incidents occurred in close proximity to eachother. Police are investigating.

Mischief in school in Angus

Essa Twp - On Sunday at 6:45 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP was called by a principal to investigate the vandalism at an elementary school in the village of Angus on Simcoe St. that reportedly occurred sometime over the weekend.

Unknown culprits smashed a front window of school but it is unknown at this time whether it was a crime of senseless damage or foiled attempt to break into the school. No suspects were located on the premise in the school or adjacent property. No property was stolen.

any incidents described above where no suspects have been identified or where an investigation is continuing or anyone who has any information regarding these incidents, to contact Nottawasaga OPP at 905-729-4004 or Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Cow on road in Essa

Essa Twp. - On Sunday at approximately 12:30 p.m. Nottawasaga OPP officers were dispatched to attend County Road 27 at the 25th Sideroad where there was a

report of a cow on the roadway that proposed a traffic hazard.

While on route the dispatcher advised the officer that the cell phone caller who'd made the initial report had said "to tell the officer to yell "KYBOSH" and the cow will come to him. Recalling my growing up in farm country, I am familiar with the term, but found that it depended on the cow really. Alike humans they have their days too.

And we never heard if that officer really did call the cow...but thanks to the cell phone caller for the heads up about the potential traffic hazard. Initial assault leads to numerous charges for Lisle man

Adjala-Tosorontio - On Saturday around 6:50 p.m. officers from Nottawasaga OPP were dispatched to a 911 call at a residence in Lisle on Market St. where an assault was reported

The investigation revealed that the 55-year-old male of Lisle and a female friend were engaged in a verbal altercation when the man assaulted the female. The 49-year-old female was not injured.

Police arrested the male for assault and further investigation found the man in possession of an unregistered prohibited firearm.
