The 2006 10th Annual Business Excellence Awards
NBX Action Sports of Innisfil wins Customer Service Award; The Scope's publisher Simcoe York Printing wins Business Award for the Promotion and Advancement of Literacy

The Nottawasaga Futures Business Awards were handed out Thursday night to 2006 Business Excellence Award Winners.

Over 200 businesses were nominated for the awards with 20 judges from all five South Simcoe municipalities determining the winner.

Mary Munnoch, president of Nottawasaga Futures emceed the 10th annual awards night.

The customer service award went to NBX Action Sports of Innisfil.

The Business Excellence went to F&P Manufacturing Inc. of Tottenham. With 780 full-time and contract employees, they are one of the top ten employers in South Simcoe and provide quality automotive suspension products on a just in time bases.

The New Business award went to Hockley Valley Brewing Co. Inc. of Adjala- Tosorontio.

The company has won the Canadian Brewing Award's Gold Medal for Hockley Dark and sells two brands of beer to 275 LCBO stores in Ontario.

The Agricultural Award went to Cathy's Crawly Composters and Cathy Nesbitt for her vermicomposting operation using worms called Red Wigglers.

Simcoe-York Printing & Publishing Limited won the award for the Promotion and Advancement of Literacy through its newspaper including the New Tecumseth Times and The Scope.

Paul Quail Transport of Adjala-Tosorontio won the business award for medium sized business. It has 34 employees and has grown from two to 40 trucks in just over 10 years and hauls 99% of its business in a just-intime format.

The micro business award went to Dr. Michael Corradini of the Bradford Animal Clinic who also works out of Tottenham.

Other awards went to Dr. Jesse Chai, Dental Office Bradford as entrepreneur of the year, to Chico's Collision Centre of Bradford as small business of the year and to Kumi Canada of Bradford West Gwillimbury as large business of the year.
