Winterhawks season off to a strong start

The Innisfil Winterhawks Novice AE team has found their wings and are soaring! The Winterhawks follow-up a solid performance on Tuesday September 19, in which 10 of the players earned points, with a 3-0 win over the TNT Tornadoes on Sunday September 24, 2006.

The scoring opened with a goal by Will Ferguson from Mackenzie Watson just 55 seconds into the first. Period two was a hard fought defensive battle, resulting in no scoring.

In the third the Winterhawks continued to light up the scoreboard with a goal at 8:03 by Sammy Couch from Brendan Young and Mackenzie Watson. Just a minute and 23 seconds later Mackenzie Watson and Brendan Young teamed up again, with Watson firing the third goal into the net.

This game marks the second shut-out in a row for goalie Carson Gron, a feat that would not have been possible without the solid defensive play by teammate Garren Kilpatrick.
