Essa mayor looks forward to new term Essa's mayor acclaimed to another term thanked the township's ratepayers Wednesday night. Dave Guergis, who was not challenged at this year's election, thanked ratepayers at last week's council meeting. "I look forward to serving another four years and I want to thank both council and staff for their support during the past term," he said. Guergis said that he felt that the Inter-Governmental Action Plan was the most important issue facing Essa. "It's a strategic time for the township. Council must ensure that there is an Essa four years from now," he said. Guergis said that he wanted to continue to improve work on the township's rural road system. "I think that we've done a good job of enhancing recreation services over the past four years and I want to continue this work," he said. "It's an exciting time for Essa and I hope to continue it or the next for years.' Deputy mayor Terry Dowdall said that he thanked ratepayers for their support. "I have enjoyed working with staff and council during g the past term. and its good to be back for another term." Councillor Sandie MacDonald,who was also acclaimed, also thanked ratepayers, staff and the fellow members of council for their support. "I look forward to the next years. The past three years has been a learning experience," he said. |
