Be a face in the fight against cancer The Innisfil Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society needs volunteers. Their involvement enables the Canadian Cancer Society to fund cancer research, provide information, services and to support people living with cancer. Call: 436- 1060 or 726-8032. The Canadian Mental Health Association of Barrie-Simcoe supports the development and continuance of self-help groups as a viable community resource for individuals experiencing difficulties. Self-Help groups can provide; support and understanding through difficult times; an opportunity to meet with others who have experienced similar difficulties; information and education; a safe and comfortable environment; suggestions regarding coping strategies that help to get through difficult times. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26TH The Simcoe County Quilt Guild will meet at the ANAF hall on George Street in Barrie at 1pm. The guest speaker will be Carol Goddu who is an award winning fabric artist. She has been lecturing and quilting since 1985 and her topic will be "The Evolution of the Quilt Artist". Carol is noted for her pictoral applique and portraits, which she will be sharing with us. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH Newton Robinson United Church is hosting a roast beef dinner and silent auction from 4:30 - 7:00 pm. Adults are $12 and children are $6 - take out orders are available. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28TH St. Paul's Coulsons Hill Church will be holding their harvest bazaar at the church from 11:30am - 2:00 pm. There will be crafts and bake tables, and lunch will be served at a cost of $5.00. Midhurst United Church will be hosting its Annual Beef Supper (and home made pies). There will be two sittings - 5:00 and 6:45 pm. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for ages 13-18, $8 for 6-12, and $3 for five and under. For tickets call 739-6935. Churchill United Church are asking people to come out and enjoy a night of music with Bon Acord. There will be something for everyone as people will be entretained by the sounds of gospel, jazz and folk music. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from church stewards or at the door. Refreshments will be provided. Sandycove Acres will be hosting their Annual Giant Craft Sale A great assortment of crafts are available on 65 tables. St. George's Anglican Church will be hosting their Utopia Annual Christmas Bazaar and Tea at 15 Fraser Street in Angus from 1 - 3:30 pm. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29TH Innisfil Community Church will be hosting a free music concert featuring "His Season". One of Canada's premier recording artists, call as seating is limited. 1-866-436-1632. Dessert will be served. The 9th Annual Rock 95 Kool 107.5 Halloween Haunt will held at park Place in Barrie in support of the Grieving Children at Seasons Centre. Volunteers are needed to act as their favourite Halloween charactors. This is a great way to have fun and add to community service hours while making a difference in the lives of children. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH St. Peter's Anglican Church, Churchill, is holding their annual Christmas Bazaar at the Stroud Community Centre from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., upstairs in the banquet hall. Vendors may lease table space by calling Carolyn at 705-458-0748. Cost is $25 per table and space is limited. This hall has elevator access to the top floor; there will be the usual baked goods, preserves, sewing/knitting, penny draw, hand crafts, raffles and lunch room. Goodfellow Public School will be having their annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale from 9am until 3pm. There will be lots of crafts, gifts, baking, tea room, a silent auction and a live auction. There will also be a visit from Santa Claus. NOVEMBER 4TH & 5TH The 14th Annual Innisfil Studio Tour will be held between 10 am and 5pm each day. The artisians of Innisfil invite you to browse through their studios and meet guest artists. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH The Simcoe County Arts and Crafts Association will be meeting at the Simcoe County Museum at 1pm.
