Innisfil woman drives wrong way on Hwy 400, no injuries

Barrie OPP responded to a collision involving a vehicle travelling the wrong way on Hwy 400 at Mapleview Drive at 9:10am on October 19th.

May Jean McCarron, 70, of Innisfil was operating a 2003 Honda Accord and entered the highway from the southbound off ramp at Mapleview Drive and proceeded to the south bound express lanes heading north, she realized she was travelling in the wrong direction and was in the process of turning around when she collided with a southbound 2000 Toyota Sienna driven by Kevin Wood, 47, of Orillia, which had swerved to avoid her. There were no injuries and damage was minor. McCarron is charged with Drive wrong way on a divided highway under the Highway Traffic Act.
