Notice to voters regarding receiving duplicate kits

The following was a letter sent by Paul Landry, A.M.C.T., Town Clerk

It has been brought to our attention that Canada Post, supplier of the Vote-By-Mail packages, has erred by sending out some duplicate Voting Kits. If you have received a duplicate Voting Kit, please return it to the Town office, either by return mail or in person. Be sure to write "DUPLICATE" on the front of the envelope.

I want to assure you that only one ballot per voter will be counted. Every Voter Kit contains a security barcode, specific to each elector. If the Clerk's office receives more than one ballot for any elector, the computer program will not accept more than one ballot. It will indicate that a ballot has previously been received from this individual.

Every effort has been made to ensure the integrity of this election, and every endeavour will be made to ensure that every qualified electors' votes has been recorded.

On behalf of the Town of Innisfil and Canada Post, I want to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
