Remembrance Day/Poppy Week Flag Raising Service

The Innisfil Remembrance Day/Poppy Week Flag Raising Service will be held on Monday, November 6th at 10:45 a.m. at the Municipal Offices on Innisfil Beach Road.

Each year for the past several years, Innisfil Community Church has coordinated the Annual Flag Raising Day of Remembrance for the Town of Innisfil.

With the cooperation of the mayor of Innisfil, Mayor Brian Jackson, and the local Legion representative the service has been a service of interest in the community.

This years participants will include Mayor Brian Jackson, area Clergy, Veteran Jack Brynaert,

Jessica Szerkis - a student from Rejoice Christian Academy, Lefroy/Belle Ewart Royal Canadian Legion president Ed Collins and Poppy Chairman Bill Hubbard.

The Rejoice Christian Academy students, along with others of the public who attend, interact with veterans in the council chambers following the brief outdoor flag raising service. The Last Post is played, the National Anthem is sung, and prayers of remembrance are offered.
