Collision sends Cookstown man by air ambulance to Sunnybrook

At 5:20 a.m. on Friday, members of Nottawasaga OPP, Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedics were on scene of a two motor vehicle collision on County Road 50 at the 10th Sideroad of Adjala Tosorontio that resulted in serious injury and a grave amount of damage.

A 2000 black Ford F350 pick up truck driven by 40 year old Tim Ireland of Loretto was southbound County Road 50 when suddenly at the crest of a hill met a northbound 1998 green Dodge Caravan travelling in the southbound lane in the direct path of the pick up. The driver of the truck swerved to the west shoulder in attempts to avoid a collision but the vehicles struck.

The driver of the Caravan was extricated from his vehicle by the Fire Department. Both drivers were transported to Stevenson Memorial Hospital by ambulance where Mr. Ireland was treated and released for minor injuries but the driver of the Caravan, 33-year-old Gerald Bramham of Cookstown was air lifted to Sunnybrook Medical Centre where he remains in serious condition.
