Innisfil Winterhawks Novice AE Battle Back For A 5-2 Victory!!

The Innisfil Winterhawks South Simcoe Police Novice AE team faced off at home against the Aurora Tigers on Saturday October 21st. Aurora took a quick twogoal lead early in the first period. To the great surprise of the Tigers, the Winterhawks took no time in answering back with 5 straight goals beginning with a goal by Connor Harfield from Will Ferguson and Ryan Davies at the

04:42 mark of the first period. Captain Will Ferguson and Assistant Connor Harfield teamed up with a goal at the 03:36 mark of the second to tie up the game. Brendan Young scored the go ahead goal off the combined efforts of Mackenzie Watson and Ben Ferguson with 33 seconds remaining in the second. The dynamic duo of Ferguson and Harfield strike again and again, with W. Ferguson scoring from Harfield at the 03:04 mark of the third and then Harfield from W. Ferguson

in the final minutes of play. It was a well-played game all around, with exceptional efforts by Ryan Davies, Darius Kondrotas, Josh Agnew and Ben Ferguson, who earned his first point of the year. Way to go Winterhawks!!

The Georgina Blaze came to town this week looking to avenge a onesided loss to the the Hawks last week. After a slow start by the boys, it looked like that might happen with the strong skating and checking from Georgina. But once again the South Simcoe Police Association Novice AE team put in a strong effort in the second and third periods, to put the game out of reach. Will Ferguson had a four goal game and Brendan Young showed some great stickhandling talent on a solo effort. Mackenzie

Watson and Josh Purcell had strong games on defense providing big shots from the point. Carson Gron made several key saves, frustrating the Georgina forwards.
