Check your Halloween candy

At approximately 6:20 PM on the 31st of October, South Simcoe Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen.

A father reports his young daughter received an unusual item in her loot bag while out for Halloween this evening. It is unknown where she received the item. The father advised he was with his daughter at the time as they canvassed the area north and south of their neighbourhood in the area of Highway 27and 89 in the village of Cookstown. The father phoned several friends in the area after discovering the item. None had found anything similar in their children's candy. The father turned over a small clear plastic bag which contained six small red capsules. The unknown capsules appear to contain an unknown powder. The property will be sent away for analysis. The South Simcoe Police Service recommends that parents check the bags carefully.
