Various assults in the municipality

Domestic assault.

On Tuesday October 24th, at 7:30 PM the South Simcoe Police Service received a 911 call for assistance from a 18 year old Bradford male advising that his parents were having a domestic. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a 41 year old male for domestic assault on his common law wife of 4 and a half years. The accused was transported to the south division were he was processed and released on a promise to appear and an undertaking entered into before an officer in charge.

Assault

Police are investigating an assault that took place on Wednesday October 25, at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Innisfil Beach Rd in the Town of Innisfil. The victim, a 25 year old female from Innisfil, advised police that she was assaulted by and unknown male as she walked along Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona. The suspect, who is believed to have been intoxicated at the time, grabbed the victim's arm, but she was able to break free and throw a hot chocolate she was carrying in his face. The suspect responded by striking the victim in the eye. The suspect ran off, and the victim ran to her residence and called an ambulance. She suffered a swollen and bruised eye.

The suspect is described as male white, in his 40's, tall with an average build, scruffy appearance, and long scraggly hair that is either white or grey in colour. He was wearing a plaid lumber jacket that was either white or grey in colour.

Assault Causing Bodily Harm

The South Simcoe Police Service is investigating an assault that occurred on Wednesday October 25, at a grocery store on Holland Street West in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. The victim, a 16 year old Bradford male, alleged that he was approached by a male suspect who started talking about an unpaid debt between family members,and then indicated he wanted to collect from the victim. When the victim indicated he had no money, the suspect attacked him and started to punch him in the head repeatedly. The victim fell to the ground and was kicked a few more times before the suspect fled. As a result of this incident, the victim received a number of bruises and abrasions. Later the same day police arrested an 18 year old Bradford male and charged him with Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He was released from custody and will appear in court in November to answer to the charge.

Assault

South Simcoe Police have charged a 16 year old female young person with Assault, Assault With a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, and Breach of Probation after an incident that occurred on October 26, 2006. Police report that the accused was at her residence on Wilson Avenue in the Town of Innisfil when she became involved in an argument with her mother over being grounded and not being allowed to go out with her friends. During the argument, the accused became violent and assaulted her mother as she reached for the phone to call police. The accused ripped the phone cord to pieces, punched her mother and sat on her to prevent her from leaving. The accused then attempted to choke her with the phone cord and placed her hand over her mouth to prevent her from yelling for help. The assault continued as the victim was dragged by her hair to the bathroom and then punched and sat on in the hallway as she tried to escape. The accused sat on her mother and taunted her for an hour until her father came home. When her father arrived home, she fled the residence. She was later located by her father and turned over to police. She was held for a bail hearing on October 27th.

Sexual Assault

South Simcoe Police have charged a 59 year old Bradford male with sexual assault after receiving information on November 6, 2006 that a male who is known to the victim was to drive the female to her residence but instead of driving the victim home, the accused drove the victim to a parking lot where he began kissing her. When the victim resisted the male's advances, the male grabbed the victim's arm, ripping open her shirt and biting her on the neck. The victim screamed and she was able to get out of the vehicle and leave the area. Police located the accused later in the day. The accused has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking with strict Conditions.
