A successful Light Up in Cookstown

The Cookstown & District Chamber of Commerce held its annual Light up Night on Friday, November 10, 2006. The weather was perfect and thousands of people came out to enjoy the evening. There were roving carolers provided by the South Simcoe Theatre and our very own town crier Ralph Wilder helped to kick off the Christmas Season. Mayor Brian Jackson and Cookstown Councillor Lynn Dollin were on hand for our tree lighting. Most stores on the main street were decorated with lights, garlands and displays for all to see. There were treats and discounts in the stores and we would like to thank all who attended. I would like to thank the following

volunteers who without their help this evening would not have happened: Jamie Hildebrand, Christopher Preece, Mitchell Dollin, Shawna McLachlan, Cindy Roddick-Smith, Nancy & Tom Hildebrand, Glen Munroe, Maria, Bill and Zara Gray, Jim Langdon, Pat Abernethy, Marg Hambly, Lynn Dollin, the Georgian Bay Steam Show, Gerry Hansen, Heather MacDonald, Wref Nix, Warren Baguely, the South Simcoe Theatre, Readene Harrison and Katie Kapasky, Sergeant Steve Wilson and the South Simcoe Police and Auxillary Police, South Simcoe Theatre.
