Free piano concert this Sunday

On December 9th at 6pm, Innisfil Community Church will be hosting a free concert with students from the Weston Music School.

Innisfil residents Yurii Kvartyrmeister and his wife Olga will be show casing about 20 of their students at the event.

Their music school opened last year and Yurii and Olga are now teaching piano out of their home.

"There will be many talented kids performing," said Olga, who adds some of the performers have been playing for a few years, while other only a few months.

There will be an array of music being performed at the concert, including classical, jazz, pop, Christmas, and ensemble and duet pieces.

Yurii will also be performing some tango music at the show.

Olga and Yurri have been running a piano school out of their home to offer the service to residents locally. Yurii is an international piano competitor and has one many competitions, including those in Moscow, Germany, and Brazil. He has also performed in Kiev, Prague, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.

Their music lessons have seen 22 of their students win competitions in Toronto.

Two of their Innisfil students are currently preparing for the competition.

There is no charge for the concert, but the church will be accepting donations. Yurii and Olga are currently accepting new students.
