Meeting with Committee, Drainage Engineer in 2007
by Michelle Minnoch

Councilor Paul Wardlaw read a motion Wednesday night regarding the South Innisfil Beach Drain.

In the motion, Councilor Wardlaw stated the Town call for and provide a meeting room for a public meeting with the Drainage Referee, Drainage Engineer, and the Innisfil Resident Advocacy Committee.

“We will have the Drainage Referee come to the meeting so the Committee can address their concerns,” he said of the motion.

Councilor Lynn Dollin remarked the Town could have some financial effect on the situation when the new budget comes to the table.

She said another resolution should be drawn up and taken to the Province, regarding how to improve the process in the future.

“No one is saying there is no work to be done,” she said of the Drain. “Everyone understands the work has to be done, it’s just the scope of the project.”

In a recorded vote, council unanimously voted in favour in bringing the groups together.
