Appointments made at council meeting

Now that councilors have had almost a month in their term, appointments have been made to council members to sit on various Boards and Committees.

Councilor Lynn Dollin, who previously sat on the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority will now be Innisfil’s representative on the LSRCA from 2006-2010.

Councilor Bill Van Berkel will now sit on the NVCA on behalf of the Town.

Mayor Brain Jackson has been appointed to the Police Services Board, Innisfil Hydro Distribution Systems Limited and the Innisfil Hydro Energy Services Limited for his term of office.

Councilor’s Van Berkel and Rod Boynton will be sitting on the Innisfil Public Library Board, and Deputy Mayor Wauchope will remain on the Innisfil Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Council will also continue the Economic Development Advisory

Committee, Municipal Heritage Committee, Innisfil Reinvestment Fund Committee, and Barrie/Innisfil Negotiating Committee.

Other continuing Committees include the Innisfil Recreational Trail Management Committee with the Township of Essa, the Alcona Glen School Committee as per agreement with the Simcoe County District School Board, Physician Recruitment for Stevenson Memorial Hospital (Alliston) and

Royal Victoria Hospital (Barrie), and the South Simcoe Economic Alliance.

Liasons to staff project teams include members designated to participate in working groups lead by the Project manager to oversee the construction of the Innisfil Recreation Complex and the new Town Hall, and members will be designated to a working group to create and oversee the creation of Urban Design Guidelines for Innisfil Beach Road.

Liaisons to municipal departments include Administration and General Government (Councilors Dollin and Kmet), Planning and Development (Councilors Van Berkel and Boynton), Corporate Services (Councilors Pring and Davidson) and Community Services (Deputy Mayor Wauchope and Councilor Wardlaw).
