Arrest warrant executed for fail to appear

The accused was charged on March 6th, 2004 for Drive Disqualified Sec. 259 of the Criminal Code of Canada by South Simcoe Police Service. Since that time, the accused attended court on previous occasions, however, failed to attend a set trial date of February 9th, 2005. As a result of failing to appear before the courts on the February 9th, 2005 court date, the Judge issued a Bench Warrant for the arrest of the accused.

On December 19th, 2006, the South Simcoe Police Service was advised by the 55 Division of Toronto Police

Service that they had a male in their custody for a charge of theft under $5000.00. Investigation by Toronto Police Service revealed that the accused was Wanted by South Simcoe Police Service on the outstanding Bench Warrant and subsequently South Simcoe was advised and agreed to return the accused.

The accused was charged for Failing to Appear under section 145(2)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was transported to the South Simcoe Police Station and held for a bail hearing.
