Break and Enter

On Wednesday December 20, at approximately 9:25 p.m. the South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a Break and Enter in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Upon arrival, the officers spoke to the tenants of an upstairs apartment who indicated that they had just returned home from grocery shopping and had located the ajoining basement apartment tenant in their apartment.

When discovered, he was in the process of leaving. The tenants searched their apartment and discovered they were missing a bottle of liquor. The officers located the tenant passed out in his basement apartment with the bottle of stolen liquor on the floor beside him. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the station.

A 32 year old Bradford male faces and number of charges including Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing on December 21, 2006.

Breach of Probation

On Wednesday December 20, at approximately 11:10 p.m. police were called to an Alcona residence by a mother who was having difficulty dealing with her 14 year old daughter.

Upon arrival, the officer discovered that the female was on probation for a previous criminal conviction and was to obey a curfew of 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. The mother indicated that her daughter was almost 2 hours late for her curfew. At approximately 11:45 p.m. the daughter returned home. The officer re-attended the residence and charged her with Breach of Disposition under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She was released on a Form 9 with a court date in January 2007.

Public Intoxication

On Thursday December 21, 2006 at approximately 2:00 p.m. police located an intoxicated male in the parking lot of a local high school. The male was not a student at the school; he was from out of town, and was under the legal drinking age. He was arrested for public

intoxication and transported to the station and lodged in a cell. Twenty four bottles of beer were located in his knap sack. The male was charged with trespassing under the Trespass to Property Act and several charges under the Liquor Licence Act. He was held until sober and then driven home.

Assault

On Thursday December 21, police were called to a Alcona address in the Town of Innisfil for a report of an assault. The accused, a 14 year old female, had been in a heated argument with her mother after her mother had discovered a bottle of liquor in her bedroom. Her mother poured the alcohol into the toilet. The argument escalated and the accused pushed her mother backwards with two open hands. They parted ways and the accused when out. When she failed to return home for her court ordered curfew later in the evening, the police were called.

Police are seeking the accused and a warrant for her arrest will be sought for Assault and Breach of Probation. She remains at large.

Warrant Execution

On Sunday, December 17th, members of the South Simcoe Police Service were doing a follow-up to a male who was wanted for (Domestic related) Uttering threats and Breach of Probation. Officers attended to a residence in Newmarket as they received information that the male was staying with his mother on Davis Dr. in Newmarket. He advised friends that he was not going to turn himself in to police.

The officers spotted his vehicle and when the accused got out he headed for an apartment building. Officers waited for the individual to come out. Once out of the building the accused was approached by the officers. A small struggle ensued and the suspect was apprehended.

He was charged accordingly. He was also charged with breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. A 42 year old Newmarket male was held for a bail hearing the next morning.
