Remembering some Cookstown residents

by Susan Stein

The community is extending their sincere condolences and sympathy to the Ogden and Walton families on the death of Marion Ogden, cherished by all.

Marion died of cancer at her home in Welland, ON. on January 21st. She leaves behind her beloved husband Bram and will be missed by her loving children, grand and great - grandchildren.

According to her wishes, her body was donated to the hospital and an Open House in her honour was held at the Ogden home.

The community will remember the Ogdens, who lived in Cookstown and owned the British Shop, where now the Vet and the Blue Spa is located. They carried English and Scottish special delicacies, candies and cheeses, beside some souvenir items.

The Ogdens visited Cookstown at Wing Dings, enjoying visiting with former neighbours, especially with the Dollin family, who attended the Open House.

We all will remember Marion with love and respect.
