Innisfil U12 girls bring home the gold

U12 Innisfil Girls Rep Team, dominates Muskoka Early Summer Soccer Tournament

Innisfil, ON - June 11, 2007 - The U12 Innisfil Girls Rep Team, take top spot at the June 9th &10th Muskoka Early Summer Soccer Tournament to bring home the gold to Innisfil.

Competing against 7 teams in their division from as far north as Sudbury and as far south as Cambridge.

A first year rep team, coached by Donna Kastle and Kent Pollard, The U12 girls played in the Muskoka Early Summer Soccer tournament this weekend and won. They were undefeated for all six games beating a very tough Cambridge United team in the finals after 2 periods of OT and finally winning in a shoot out. Great job in net by Alexandra Pollard, Alex only allowed 2 goals in for the 6 games and then performed with confidence and desire in the shoot out. The team continues to show improvement every game and are starting to put it all together as a team. Goals for the tournament were scored by Paige Corrado (6) Mackenzie Simpson (3) Tia Clemmenson(1) Molly Kastle (1) Madeleine Imboden (1) Hannah Boeje (2) Emma McFarland (1) Megan Ramsay (1) Makayla Smith (1) Keanna Fullerton (1).

Did you know, our girls pushed for this rep team to be created for over a year?

Donna Kastle a parent of one of the girls on the team and a recognized community coach for a number of sports including basketball, soccer and volleyball -- took up the call and made this team a reality for our girls.

In years past Donna, has been a regular coach of the Innisfil Soccer Clubs, houseleague and All-Stars teams.
