Pedestrian bridge replacements for Innisfil Beach Park

by Michelle Minnoch

Committee voted in favour of the replacement of the two pedestrian bridges at Innisfil Beach Park.

In the 2007 Capital Budget, $97,000 was approved for the replacement work. Staff has received a quote from Eagle Bridge for the work, costing $81,394.12.

One of the pedestrian bridges is located at the mouth of the creek, east of the boat launch area, the other crosses the creek west of the boat launch.

The bridge replacement project was recommended in the Innisfil Beach Park Future Directions Plan.

"The bridges have served their purpose," remarked Mayor Jackson, "but there comes a time when you need something more substantial."
