Ad Hoc Committee to undertake review of current town hall retrofit to accomodate North Division

by Michelle Minnoch

Council approved the creation of an Ad Hoc Committee proposed by the South Simcoe Police Services Board, with final approval from the Town of Innisfil, to undertake the reviews and steps necessary in the retrofit of the current Town Hall into part of the North Division.

"My concern is we want the building to be built and suited for the Police Service," said Councilor Lynn Dollin. "It's still a town building, and will remain so, but used by the Police Services." She requested someone ho currently works out of the North Division to sit on the committee.

Deputy Mayor Gord Wauchope agreed and said with the new tenants, it would be a great savings for the town.

The approximate cost for the retrofit will be $2.57 million. There will also be a representative from town staff on the committee.
