LEFROY - BELLE EWART NEWS

Have you all noticed the leaves changing colour? It is amazing how many trees along the concession roads have started to turn; some have even already fallen to the ground! Seems to me that it's a little early but people are reminding me that we are halfway through September and October looms. Where did summer go?

Innisfil Pipes and Drums: Practice takes place at the Belle Ewart Legion Branch 547 Mondays at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome. Contact Ken at 705-456-3717 for information. Newfoundland Dinner/- Dance: Emmie is "sold out" for the upcoming dinner dance. For those who were able to get tickets, mark your calendars for Oct. 20th. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and a buffet "Jigs" dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m. There will be good down home fun with Newfoundland skits during the desserts. There will be only one door prize....but a good one!!! The fun will end at 1 p.m. We advise that this is for adults only. Entertainment is Fred White & Brenden Gilliam "A Cape Bretener & Newfoundlander", who specialize in Irish/Country/DowEast/Rock'nRoll!The dinner/dance will be held at the South Simcoe Community Centre (Lefroy Arena). A big thank you to everyone who is helping Emmie get all the plans organized.

Legion News: Ed Collins has asked me to put the Legion news in my column this week. Ed and Maggie are back from the East coast and just getting reacquainted with their routines after being away these past few months. Welcome back, you two.

Legion Hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 2-7 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m.

Ontario Service Officer visit: Attention all Veterans, and ex-military...the Ontario Service Officer will be coming on Oct. 2nd. Call Jack at 458-1966 if you need an appointment.

Darts commence on Sept. 17th at 7 p.m. You do not have to be a member to join in a little fun! Contact Donny Wambolt at 705-456-1176.

Meat Draws continue every Saturday afternoon and you should buy a ticket or two and participate. You can't win, if you don't buy a ticket! There are four chances to win each week.

Euchre is held every Thursday starting at 1 p.m.

Hall Rentals are available. There is more than one room available to consider. The prices are great. A Smart Bartender is included and a D.J. can be arranged upon request.
