Give Peace Week photo contest a chance
      Celebrate peace week with a smile for the camera. The Simcoe/Muskoka YMCA is hosting the first annual Peace Week photo contest for all local residents. Photos should be based on the theme "The power of peace, the power of people." Entries must include a short written statement explaining how that image is representative of the theme.

Library nominated for history award
      The Town of Innisfil has nominated its public library for a provincial award. Council passed a recommendation to to nominate the Innisfil Public Library for the Ontario Historical Society's 2007 Dorothy Duncan Award, during a meeting last week. The library will be nominated for outstanding service to the town and greater community.

Two groups give money to new recreation centre
      They sure like their sports. The Innisfil Recreation Centre's fundraising campaign is about $35,000 away from its $3.5 million goal, after two more donations made during a town council meeting last week.
