Innisfil Lakers leap over King Wild
      The Innisfil Lakers only had one game last week, and it ended in a hard-fought win over the King Wild in King City Saturday night. As a result, the Lakers leapfrogged over the Wild into sixth place in the Greater Metro Junior A standings with 12 points.

Icebreakers hang in tough battle, but narrowly defeated by Schomberg
      Thursday October 18 - Lefroy Atom 3 played Schomberg 1 and were defeated 3-1. Lefroy's goal was scored by Zach Hellings and assisted by Grant Scott. All skaters worked hard and solid goaltending by Luc Bujold kept the game close.

     Submitted photo Essa Township recently hosted their fifth annual Essa Challenge golf tournament at Tangle Creek Golf Club. The township raised nearly $14,000 for the Simcoe- Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre, to be built at Barrie's Royal Victoria Hospital.
