Christmas with Cookstown families
by Susan Stein

Olive Borland's family had a great Christmas with the visit of son Paul, who came with his wife Allison and children Annie (12 years old), Jim 10 years old, from Australia. They live in NSW, in a small town, similar to Cookstown, where Allison has a store with hand made crafts and gifts.

While here the children enjoyed seeing snow, a rare sight in Australia, where right now is summertime. It was eight years ago that the Borland family had a Christmas get-together at their home on the 9th line Essa.

Grace Cooper spent Christmas Day 2006 at her son Bill and Eileen's home in Cookstown, son Jim and Heather with their children Jennifer and Michelle.

Harold and Bev Quist, celebrated Christmas Eve at the home of Judith Quist. Also present were Judith's daughter Anne with husband Gerry from B.C.

A special Danish Christmas dinner was prepared by Bev, in keeping Judith's Danish tradition.

Leslie and Norma Currie had their Christmas family dinner at their daughter Lorraine and Byron's home .

Lisle and Debbie Currie held their annual (which had started three years ago) Neighbours Party on December 21st at their home on Hwy. 27. Some of the neighbours were the

Wardlaws, the Faris family, the Coopers, Meyers, and Voutts.

What a great idea! Keep it up.

Joan McLean's home was filled with 27 members of her family on Christmas Day. Only grandson Mark could not be there with other family obligations.

It was a great time to be together, to keep in touch.

I had my family at my home for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and gifts.

For Christmas Day I was invited by Andy and Nancy to their home in Cookstown for a great feast and a visit with her family.
