Mayor looking forward to 2007
by Michelle Minnoch

Innisfil Mayor Brian Jackson is looking forward to an exciting year for the Town of Innisfil.

“We will be continuing with our roads program,” he said in a 2007 message to residents. “We will also continue the drive to create industrial employment opportunities in our area.”

Mayor Jackson said residents will see the value in their tax dollars, with the continuation of the top services in the Town.

In 2007, Mayor Jackson says the Town will continue their negotiation talks with the City of Barrie regarding servicing the 400 corridor, and council will have to evaluate OPA 1. There will also have to be discussions about how to deal with IGAP and the population targets.

“In early 2007, we will have to develop a business plan for the next four years.”

Mayor Jackson said between now and March, council will be dealing with the budget and making some financial decisions.

He is looking forward to the completion of the Innisfil Recreational Complex and the New Administration Building, both to be inhabited by late fall of this year.

“I wish our residents and healthy and happy 2007,” the Mayor said.
