Weekend incidents

Barrie OPP officers responded to 52 incidents over the long weekend including seven motor vehicle collisions.

Barrie OPP officers investigated three snowboard thefts from Horseshoe Valley Resorts and one from Mount St. Louis Resort. Snowboarders and skiers are reminded to secure their equipment when not in use.

Barrie OPP officers investigated an assault in Oro- Medonte last night in which an 80 year old male assaulted a 63 year old female. The intoxicated male was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault and one of Uttering Threats. He was lodged in the Barrie OPP cells overnight pending a bail hearing.

Barrie OPP officers checked 696 vehicles in RIDE checks over the past week with no offences detected.
