South Simcoe Police Impaired Driving On December 22, 2006 at approximately 8:40 pm South Simcoe Police stopped a vehicle in a RIDE Program on Innisfil Beach Road. The driver was subsequently arrested for Impaired Driving. Breath samples were taken on scene in the RIDE vehicle. As a result a 53 year old Barrie man is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Excess Alcohol. The accused will appear in Bradford Provincial Court at a later date. Mischief To Property On December 22, 2006 at approximately 8:20PM South Simcoe Police were called to a parking lot on Holland Street in Bradford. A dispute in a donut shop continued out into the parking. During the confrontation a male party struck a vehicle causing a large dent. The suspect was located by police a short time later and arrested. A 19 year old Bradford man is charged with Mischief Under $5000.00. Domestic assault On Tuesday December 26th 2006, at approximately 10:30 PM the South Simcoe Police Service received a 911 call for assistance from a female who advised that her husband had assaulted her. Officers arrived at the Bradford residence and after investigating the assault allegation arrested a 46 year old Bradford man for domestic assault. The accused was transported to the police station and later released on a promise to appear and undertaking entered into before an officer in-charge. Utter Death Threat On December 25, 2006 at approximately 7:25p.m. police attended a residence on Goshen Rd in the Town of Innisfil regarding a threatening phone call that was received from the occupant's son who indicated he was going to cause harm to his mother and the family home. The son's whereabouts are unknown at this time and a warrant is being obtained for his arrest. Fail To Remain/ Dangerous Driving On December 25, 2006 at approximately 7:55p.m. police received a report for a possible impaired driver who drove across the front lawn of a residence on Maplegrove Ave in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. The vehicle was located in the area, and through further investigation it was learned that the male driver got into an argument with his wife over directions and after dropping off his wife, the driver sped away eratically striking bushes on the front lawn of a residence and narrowly missing an oncoming car and pedestrians. Police have charged a 24 year old Newmarket male with Fail to Stop after Accident and Dangerous Driving. The male was released from custody and he has a date in Bradford court on February 1, 2007. Fail To Remain at Accident On December 25, 2006 at approximately 9:40p.m. police attended Breeze Dr in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury regarding an accident. The residents heard a bang outside and when they looked outside, a vehicle had collided with a parked vehicle in the driveway at the house. The driver at first refused to get out of the vehicle and when police were called the driver walked away from the scene. The driver was located by police at another residence on Breeze Dr. Police have charged a 49 year old Beaverton male with Fail to Stop After Accident. The male was released from custody and he has a date in Bradford court on February 1, 2007. Domestic Assault On December 26, 2006 at approximately 2:05a.m. police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Taylor Woods Blvd in the Town of Innisfil. Upon arriving on scene, police learned that the husband and wife were arguing in the kitchen area at which time the husband pushed his wife. Police have charged a 42 year old Innisfil male with Assault. Threaten bodily harm On the 27th of December 2006, at 0049 hrs, police received a 911 call from a Lefroy residence advising that his basement tenant was outside of his house with a baseball bat calling him to come outside and threatening him. When officers arrived the suspect was observed going back into his apartment. The accused, a 49 year old Lefroy man was arrested by police for threatening to cause bodily harm to his landlord, He was then transported to the South Simcoe Police, North Division where it was determined that he would be held for bail on account that he has an outstanding bench warrant stemming from similar assault charges on his former landlord in Aurora. Domestic Assault On Friday December 28th 2006 at approximately 12:00am the accused returned home in a very intoxicated state. The accused was stumbling around the house and had fallen down the stairs 3 times. The accused was passed out at the bottom of the stairs. The victim, the accused's wife, went to check on him. The accused opened his eyes and grabbed the victims ankle and pulled on it causing her to fall and hit her head on the wall. The victim contacted police to report the incident. Police attended and arrested the accused for Domestic Assault. The accused a 29 year old Bradford Man was charged with Domestic Assault. The accused was held in custody overnight and later released. The accused will be appearing in Bradford court in February 2007 to answer to the charges. Domestic Assault South Simcoe Police have charged a 27 year old Bradford female with two counts of Assault after police received information from a male who reported being pushed by his ex-wife on December 23, 2006 and December 31, 2006 while in attendance at two different locations in Bradford. The female turned herself in to police on January 1, 2007 and she was released from custody with a court date in Bradford. Thornhill man charged in police pursuit New Tecumseth — A police pursuit has landed a Thornhill man with many charges. On Friday, Dec. 29 about 3:50 a.m., the Nottawasaga OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Hwy. 89 east of Alliston with no occupants in the vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle leaving a nearby driveway. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, it fled the area at a high rate of speed. As it was fleeing, the vehicle struck the officer’s vehicle. The officer was uninjured. The suspect vehicle was involved in a separate minor vehicle accident at which point the driver was arrested. Charged is Ander Walker Huria, 19, with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Over 80 mgs, Dangerous Operation, Fail to Remain at the scene of an accident x 2, Theft over $5,000 x 2, Breach Probation x 2, Break and Enter x 3, Theft under $5,000, Possession of Marihuana, and Fail to Stop For Police. The accused had a bail hearing on Dec. 29th. Anyone who may have witness the incident or has any information is asked to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 905 729 4004. |
