Blood donors invited to 'make a date to donate' to help local patients

Canadian Blood Services urges residents to celebrate Valentine's Day by making an appointment to donate blood with a loved one, friend or co-worker.

Chances are your sweetheart or someone you know may need blood in their lifetime.

By donating blood regularly (three times a year) you and your loved one can directly benefit the lives of 18 patients - one donation can save three lives.

Three out of four Canadians say they are willing to donate, so look around you and encourage someone to take that first step by including them in your next appointment. First time donors are always welcome.

If you have never given blood, please take this very special opportunity to do so, and if you are already a regular donor, please bring a new donor with you.
