25 year old man arrested after police pursuit On January 13th at approximately 4pm, members of the Nottawasaga OPP were conducting a RIDE spot check on County Road 10, between the 4th Line and Camp Hill Road in Essa Township. A black Ford Explorer approached the spot check and then fled from officers at an extremely high rate of speed. Officers pursued the dangerous driver for approximately four kilometres, northbound on County Road 10 as the driver was observed erratically passing other vehicles on the shoulder. The driver lost control and spun the vehicle around, meeting a police vehicle head on. He proceeded driving blindly in reverse, northbound on County Road 10. Again, the driver of the Ford Explorer lost control, and rolled his vehicle in the ditch. The 25 year old driver then fled the scene on foot, after a short foot pursuit, the driver was arrested. There were no injuries incurred by the driver or officers at the traffic accident. The driver, 25 year old Roger Rowley of Essa Township has been charged with Dangerous Driving, Flight From Police, Breach Probation X2 and numerous other Highway Traffic Act charges. |
