Serious accident sends man to hospital

Adjala-Tosorontio - A man is lucky to be alive after a serious accident.

On Wednesday Jan. 3 at about 5:45 a.m., a northbound vehicle travelling on Hwy. 50 north of Hwy. 9 lost control colliding with another vehicle south bound Hwy 50.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to Sunnybrook Medical Centre with serious life threatening injuries. The identity of this driver has not yet been released pending notification of family member(s).

Road conditions were that of black ice, very treacherous at that time. There were no reported injuries to the other driver. The roads were closed for about five hours re-opening at about 10:30 a.m. The investigation is continuing.
