Impaired Driving

On January 18, at approximately 11:26 PM South Simcoe Police observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Bridge St. into the Town of Bradford. The vehicle was stopped and the officer spoke to the driver. While in conversation with the driver the officer detect the odor of an alcohol. The driver admitted to having consumed 3 alcoholic beverages this evening. A road side screening device test was performed resulting in a fail. The driver was arrested for Over 80 mgs and taken to the police station where two breath test were performed both tests registered twice the legal limit. As a result a 24 year old Alliston resident was charged with Over 80 mgs. The vehicle was towed and he was given an automatic 90 days driving suspension in February to answer to the charge.

Domestic Dispute, Bradford - Threatening Death Charges

Shortly after 9:00AM Friday January 19, South Simcoe Police attended a Bradford residence in response to a Domestic Disturbance call. A 38 year old woman complained that her 42 year old commonlaw husband was out of control and had threatened to kill her. Police arrested the common-law husband and held him for a bail hearing.

Theft under $5000 - Innisfil

South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of 2 snowblowers valued at $1200 each taken from a north Innisfil business. Snowblowers were new and still in packing crates. Thieves entered a storage compound through an adjacent business property. Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers.
