Multiple thefts from vehicles in Sandy Cove

As a result of a rash of theft from auto calls over the last month, officers have been paying special attention to the Sandy Cove Acres area located on the North and South side of Lockhart Drive at the 25th Sideroad, in the Town of Innisfil.

On January 28th at approximately 2:50 am , a uniform officer concentrating on Sandy Cove Acres discovered fresh footwear impressions in the snow beside a vehicle. Back-up was called and by 3:00 am, a perimeter had been established. Barrie City Police K-9 assisted with police service dog Tazer.

At 5:50 am, after over a two hour track by K-9 the suspects were located at a residence in Innisfil resulting in the arrest of three male adults and two male young offenders all from the Town of Innisfil. A search of the house located several items stolen from motor vehicles and charges are pending but will include theft of stolen property, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

The South Simcoe Police Service would like victims to call the police service and report any property missing or damaged.
