Election promises? You be the judge

Dear editor,

Last fall's election certainly focused on the lake and the environment. Many, if not all campaigns, put the lake and environment as a priority!

So, how are we doing so far? You be the judge.

1) A decision was made by council to shrink the County Greenlands within the Lefroy development project and construct housing. This will see the wildlife left with an area to move north and south alongside the railroad tracks. When the houses are built and the trains start rolling, the wildlife will be forced out.

2) "Committees for Everything"...well almost everything. There are many municipalities that have an Environmental Committee in place. On January 24th, council chose not to support a recommendation by Councillor Davidson to investigate the possibility of creating an Environmental Committee.

I hope our council has not forgotten about the lake and the environment.
